Hi, I’m Russell
I’m a PhD candidate studying old age psychiatry, originally from Singapore and currently living and working in Sydney, Australia. I have interests in studying healthy aging and dementia.
Latest highlights
Researchers from UNSW Sydney’s Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA), led by PhD student Russell Chander, have developed an enhanced version of a popular test for theory of mind, making it shorter and more effective for use with older adults.
My career
My current research work focuses on social cognitive abilities in older adults. I have also been involved in research on healthy aging, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, Parkinson’s disease, ischemic stroke, and acute psychosis.
My education
I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales, and I previously graduated magna cum laude from the University of Buffalo (SIM).
Personal
In my spare time, I hit the gym, play video games, and occasionally look up other activities to do besides just those two things.
