About me
Russell Jude Chander
Hi, I’m Russell
I’m a Scientia PhD candidate with the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA), located in the School of Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). My current PhD work focuses on social cognition in older adults, and how they relate to genetics, hormonal and neuroimaging markers, and risk of cognitive decline. My previous and secondary work includes clinical research in dementia and memory disorders, with a focus on clinically viable in vivo biomarkers and predictive factors of Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment, stroke, and cerebrovascular disease. My interests also include neuroimaging techniques as a predictive and diagnostic method.
I graduated from the University at Buffalo (Singapore) with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communications (double major) and worked as a Clinical Research Assistant at the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) in Singapore prior to joining CHeBA.
